1. Do you have a college degree?
Indeed I do.

2. What was the amount of your last electric bill?
Embarassed to admit I'm not sure. My wife is the brains of the operation.

3. Do you have life insurance?
Yes.

4. How many hours per week do you work?
I work at home, and a whole lot of my time at home is spent at my computer
doing things that aren't easily distinguishable to an outside observer from
"work". A comparatively small portion of this time I spend concentrating
very very hard on writing, debugging, or reviewing code that's related
to my job. Depending on where you draw the boundary line between
"working" and "fucking around on the computer", the answer could be
anywhere from 5 to 60. (I put 40 on the timesheets.)

5. Have you ever attended a Toastmasters event?
I've been present while one was going on.

6. Favorite place to attend Happy Hour?
The big stump in front of tent 15 at Oakland Feather River Camp.

7. How many miles is your commute to work each day (one way)?
Oh, fifteen yards. Twenty if I take the scenic route past the rosebushes.

8. What time do you get up every morning for work?
When my kid wakes me. Typically 8ish.

9. What is your definition of sleeping in late?
9ish.

10. Do you check your cholesterol on a yearly basis?
I'm a mutant; my cholesterol is extremely low. Like, "possibly
in need of cholesterol supplements" low. So no, I don't bother.

11. How large was your first cell phone?
Cellphone sized. I just got it last year.

12. Does your employer provide good health insurance?
Compared to what? France? No, it blows. Compared to my previous
employer, it's great. Compared to the same previous employer in
1992, it's lousy.

13. Did you use the Internet to write a research paper?
I wrote a paper in a politics class once that used ideas I'd developed
in USENET discussions, and reflected feedback from there. Does that count?

14. Have you attended a HS reunion?
One. My 20th, a year or so ago.

15. How many jobs have you held in your professional career?
Two, really. I had tech jobs before those, but I wasn't what
I'd consider a "professional" yet. Got my previous job while still
in college and stayed there 18 years.

16. Have you ever been fired or laid off from a job?
I was laid off once, but I pointed out to my employers what a stupid idea
that would be, and they changed their minds. A couple of years later they
tried again, and this time I decided to let them.

17. What is your favorite drink?
Alcoholic: Hard cider. Non-alcoholic: Water.

18. What is the most expensive bottle of wine that you have in your
residence?

No bottles. I think I have a little jar of cooking wine in the fridge.
Got a $6.99 six-pack of a very nice hard cider though.

19. [Omitted]

20. How old were you when you stopped getting ID’d for Alcohol?
Never bought alcohol often enough to notice.

21. Favorite casino?
(Null program.)

22. Are you happier now than you were in high school?
Enormously.

23. Did you ever have Hypercolor shirts?
Never heard of 'em.

24. Do you remember when Michael Jackson was black and was attracted to
older people?

Well, I remember when he was black. No idea who he was attracted
to, though. (All's I know for sure is Billie Jean was not his lover...)

25. Do you remember when MTV actually played music videos?
Oh, sure. "Maybe the next one will be good...aw damn, it's Billie Jean
again. Well, maybe the next one will be good..."

26. Have you had a will made?
Yes, but it's out of date.

27. What music was in your cd / cassette player when you were 16?
The Dark Side of the Moon, more likely than not.

28. Favorite fancy / upscale restaurant?
Don't have one these days. Best restaurant meal I've had in the last
several years (and maybe ever) was at little bistro in Greenwich Village
I've forgotten the name of. No place in or near Santa Cruz even comes
close.

29. How long has it been since you attended a kegger?
Not sure... Is it a "kegger" whenever there's a keg of beer available, or
is it only a "kegger" if the keg is the whole point of having the party in
the first place? I've strenuously avoided the latter sort of party, but I
remember navigating my way through one on the way to my dorm room once.

30. Where were you when you found out about 9-11?
In bed. The alarm went off at 9 AM and KPIG was playing "Chimes of
Freedom" by the Byrds, and then the DJ introduced the news guy,
saying he had an update on the events of "this horrible, horrible
day," and I got very nervous. By that time it was noon in New York
and the towers had already fallen.

31. Do you have any children yet?
Yep.
