Yes - SF cable cars and Half Dome: the most fantastically dangerous tourist attractions in America.
Glad my well-timed call could reunite our high school comedy team for an unpredicted laugh. The kid's got timing!
The changes in the academy are indeed weird...so much wonderful stuff, yet it doesn't have that same feeling of taking you in and leading you through something. Somehow it makes science look less mysterious, which may shift the demographic to whom it appeals. And the planetarium upgrade was misguided in a number of ways, including many common IMAX mistakes, whereby bigger is considered better even when it's impossible to focus or grasp the image. I do miss the old planetarium.
I've been to the new Academy four times so far, and the rainforest dome has been either full (turning away visitors) or closed every time. Perhaps next week.
